Beyond Solar's System Warranty

Warranty Terms

At Beyond Solar, we offer:

  • A 5-year warranty on the components of your solar power or battery system. If any component installed by us fails or breaks within 5 years of the installation date, we will provide a remedy as outlined below (Components Warranty).
  • A 10-year warranty on the installation services. If the system installed by us fails or breaks within 10 years due to defective installation, we will provide a remedy as outlined below (Installation Warranty).

Together, these form Beyond Solar’s System Warranty.

Transferability

Beyond Solar’s System Warranty is transferable to any subsequent purchaser of the premises where the solar or battery system was installed by the original purchaser.

Making a Claim

If your solar or battery system fails and you believe it’s due to a breach of either the Components or Installation Warranty, you may be entitled to make a claim. To do so:

  • Send a letter or email to us using the contact details below, and include:
  • Details supporting your claim (whether it relates to the Components or Installation Warranty).
  • Proof of purchase (invoice, receipt, or similar documentation).
  • Your contact information.

We will contact you within a reasonable time after receiving your claim to discuss further steps.

Your Responsibilities

When your solar or battery system is installed, we will provide documents explaining recommended maintenance routines and how to monitor performance. To ensure the warranty remains valid:

  • Follow all care, repair, and usage instructions (written or verbal).
  • Avoid misuse, neglect, damage, or unauthorised modifications to the system.
  • Ensure only qualified solar electricians work on the system.

In determining whether any compensation is payable, we may consider how long it took you to report the issue after it became reasonably noticeable.

Remedies

If we find that a breach of the Components or Installation Warranty has occurred:

  • Minor failures: You must allow us an opportunity to remedy the issue at no cost within a reasonable time.
  • Major failures or issues that cannot be remedied: You are entitled to either:
    • Cancel your agreement and receive a refund.
    • Receive compensation for the difference in value between the goods/services provided and what was paid for.

If your claim is successful, we will also reimburse reasonable, substantiated expenses incurred in making the claim.

Exclusions

While we take necessary precautions, Beyond Solar’s System Warranty does not cover:

  • Existing electrical installations, wiring, or fuse boxes.
  • Malicious damage, abuse, or damage caused by vermin, animals, or pests.
  • Damage caused by ‘Acts of God’, improper voltage, power surges, or accidents beyond our control (surge protection can be installed at an additional cost).
  • Alterations to your property as a result of our services.
  • Damage caused by unqualified individuals working on the system.
  • Damage resulting from failure to perform reasonable maintenance as outlined in the provided documentation.
  • Damage or loss that was not reasonably foreseeable.
Jurisdiction

This warranty is governed by the laws of New South Wales (NSW), and any disputes will be handled by the courts of NSW.

Consumer Guarantees

In addition to this warranty, our goods and services come with further guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, which cannot be excluded. You may have other rights and remedies under the law.
